The period of biodegradable materials
The plastic ban of single-use items is discussed since years. Since the first directive producers and suppliers are trying to find alternative solutions for them, which have a similar function, which are cheap and environmental friendly. The biodegradable plastic works with all the 3 criteria.
Biodegradable materials and the law
In the first draft of the directive (which says the same as the EU directive) biodegradable materials like BioPot (sugar cane) and BioLig (lignin coming out of paper making industry) are allowed also in future in Italy. After the discussion in the chamber, the s signed this draft. This very important step gives free way to both materials (at least in Italy), from these are produced now plates, dishes, cups, drinking straws and other products. Both materials are certified against DIN EN 13432. These are now the first steps to achieve a final law which allows the materials also after plastic ban.
Biodegradable drinking straws and other materials
Since a long time period Alpiplast produces drinking straws made of BioPot and BioLig – an environmental friendly and CO² neutral solution.
